- can we write a smart goal from Watching a tractor drive evokes a deep sense of pride, deeply rooted in rural and agricultural communities. This pride takes several distinct forms, ranging from celebrating family heritage and hard work to recognizing the backbone of local communities. The purpose of the alumni sponsoring the tractor drive and blessing for the past 12 years is to:•Demonstrate the success of the school’s agriculture curriculum and the FFA program.•Strengthen the community’s awareness, relevance, and benefits of the agriculture program in the school.•Showcase the historical, current, and future importance of agriculture in the community.•Promote the alumni chapter and display to the community how the organization develops good will that builds collaboration with the school administration, educators, students, and the community.•Celebrate family heritage, hard work, and small-town values shared in our community.Being a visible part of the community’s annual summer festival fulfills the activities purposes, it creates fellowship among the participants of the tractor drive, and gives those participating time away from their operation to enjoy a tractor drive as they roll down the 10 mile route, and then finish with a lunch with their neighbors and fellow farmers.
